Battery issue after bicycle accident

Hey all,

A few weeks ago I fell with my bike and my z1 compact took the hit with all my body weight. The backside took the major hit and looks really bad, and from the side you can see the phone being bent. However, the phone has been working perfectly for over 1 month which is just incredible after that big hit. Sadly my phone has started showing signs of the hit lately, usually the phone just restart itselfs, or freeze so I need to press the red button or power/volume up. But during the last couple of days the phone is unresponsive. Its 100% dead, you cant charge it or anything. But suddenly you try to start it and it comes to life from nowhere, always with 1% battery left.

From my untechnical experience, it sounds like we have a battery issue here? Is there anything I can try or do myself before sending it away for a costly replair?

Best regards

You could if you feel up to it remove the back glass and replace this yourself at a fraction of the cost - Whilst the back is off you can check the battery connection and the board for signs of damage

I would suspect not the battery itself (if Li-Ion would get punctured his phone would be already destroyed) but from broken paths on the motherboard. Anyway without inspection it is impossible to get any futher.
