linking my phone to my pc wirelessly

Hi. Relatively new to the phone and now we have a new pc. Feel like I'm being eaten by technology. Anyway, my phone doesn't seen to be able to detect my pc. And vice versa. The pc is an hp and operates with Windows 8. It has ee wi fi which dies seem to be playing up a bit. Can't seem to sort that out (that's new too) any tips?

Thanks, I did that. They deep know of eachother now, I permanently have an icon saying "computer is connected" but I can't use it for anything- when I try to switch on Media transfer It can't find any pending devices. It says my content Is published to my wi fi network,, but I can't fin?d it other end. My memory is getting fill and I want to transfer stuff :-S
