Seems I'm the only one (so far) experiencing this as I've searched online for the solution with no luck. As the title suggests, my "return" or "Enter" key in the keyboard is not working.
Say when texting or creating an SMS, JB 4.1's return key would create a "new paragraph", putting the "Insertion Point" just below the first paragraph. But after updating to JB 4.2.2, the "Enter" key does nothing at all. Pressing it doesn't put the "insertion point" below the paragraph, it just does nothing.
I find it really annoying since in JB 4.1.2, I use it frequently when texting. Now I have to send 3 seperate texts instead of 1 with 3 paragraphs in it. It's probably just me or is their a fix around this. If it's a bug, then I guess I'll just have to wait until sony's next update 😕
have you done factory reset?
Not yet, I'd rather include that as my last option. But in all likelihood, would a factory reset fix it?
Sony Xperia M dual - latest firmware (15.2.A.2.5) - the keyboard return key issue e.g. in Mail, Gmail is still present and very annoying. I have tried another keyboard from Play Store and it has worked correctly, however I don't want to have another ram eater keyboard installed, so please check and fix this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Its definitely a bug in Jellybean 4.2.2 update by Sony and factory reset will not resolve it. While selecting other options in Xepria Keyboard ->Text Input Settings -> Word Suggestions, the Return / Enter key works fine. It seems as if they have left out to add Return / Enter key functionality in the option: 'I don't want any help when writing, not even suggestions'..
Waiting for a bug fix.
i send this problem to sony and they reply this answer:

I apologize for any inconveniences.
HI,
I did the software repair by using the link given.

This is a Sony Update Service link. I installed the application and during the software repair/reinstallation, it also factory reset my phone (Xperia L). Still the Return/Enter key problem is not solved. This is definitely a bug in Sony's Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Software and they need to provide a solution to sort out this problem.
