Try sourcing the Internet/MMS settings via these steps:
Main Menu > Settings > Xperia > Internet Settings > Accept.

settings > more > mobile networks > apn > menu > add New > enter this

APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.tmobile.com (for LTE devices)
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy:
MMS port:
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type:
APN type: default,supl,admin,dun,mms
menu > save
restart your phone
In this case please follow the below steps to bring up the APN settings for the phone after which you will need to confirm these settings with the network provider:
Main Menu > Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.

I don't have T-mobile, I have AT&T but I had helped other users with their APN settings, was your phone locked to a different carrier/network branded?
what happen when you enter the above settings ?
I would try a SIM swap so that you can at least rule that out.
