Hello, i've recently updated 2 phones to Jelly Bean (6.2.A.0.400).
The problem is that even if the NFC is enabled, it doesn't detect SmartTags nor the other Xperia P (Android Beam).
Anyone can confirm?
P.S. None of the 2 Xperia Ps can detect each other or the SmartTags. Will try with a Sola on ICS later.
Edit: It doesn't even work with android bean between my Xperia P on JB and a Sola on ICS!
Edit 2: Reverted my Phone to ICS while i left the other one on JB. Android beam works between the Phones now (Xperia P to Xperia P), SmartTags on the JB don't work while on my Xperia P running ICS works. (Both phones have Smart Connect installed and Xperia SmartTags too).
The problem is that when i touch my phone (running ICS) to my brother's (running JB) both phones respond with a "Touch to beam". If both phones are running jelly bean, none of them respond.
Tried this morning with a Sola running ICS and mine running JB. I got it working only 2 to 3 times out of 30 times i tried touching them back to back. Only 3 times i heard the sound and said "Touch to beam".
Also which command to execute and were? adb? terminal emulator (on the phone)?
"Oh, a mode of experiment, can you test if you can read the JB phone tag when it is off?"
When the NFC is off, place a SmartTag close to the phone and see if it does recognise it?
Edit: Here's a logcat of the connection between the Sola (ICS) and my Xperia P (JB).
Ignore the "isInputSimPinCodeDone" and the "NFC-C ON/NFC-C OFF", my phone was being locked during the tests and was shuting down the NFC.
The main thing i want to focus is the "LLCP Activation message". This appears when the phones were back to back and they were somewhat able to communicate.
This is what the phones were doing (Sola is the sender).
Xperia Sola (ICS)
Xperia P (JB)
This also works if the Xperia P wants to send something (and it actually does, it did send something from youtube to Sola when i tried afterwards).
Mind that it needs quite many times to "recognise" the other device. Out of 6 times i got it once.
From XP to XP running both Jelly Bean, no "LLCP Activation message".
If this is the solution you talk about, it didn't help me.
Tried also clearing data + cache, rebooting, re-installing from play store, even getting rid of the pre-installed Smart Connect application and using the Play Store's only. No luck.
kindly update to New Xperia P firmware (6.2.A.1.100). all the bugs related to NFC is now cleared and is detecting tags as usual via smart connect app
Yeah PC companion says an update is available
Hope all your problems got solved
