I am facing issues with mic after 5.1 update

How so? Are you having issues during normal phone calls or while using the mic with other applications?

I am facing this issue during normal calls, after calling 2-3 the mic works

If you think the problem is due to the 5.1 update you can try to reinstall the update with Sony PC Companion.

But I would first boot on safe mode and check how the mic works to check if perhaps its something else causing the issue.

How to boot on safe mode on Lolipop
1. press and hold the power key
2. once you get the pop up menu 
3. press and hold "power off" 
4. Boot on safe mode should become available

No,I suppose it is Z3. Moved it to correct section.

Same here. When I make a call the other person can't hear me until I tap loudspeaker on and off, after that they can hear me. If I receive a call they can hear me without me performing the loudspeaker on off routine.
Only been like this since 5.1.1 update.
Reset phone and recovered phone with pc companion but still the same.

I'm also having the same Issue and realize that the real problem relies on Google app. If you disable the "OK Google" recognition on any screen the mic will work as it is..

No, it does not.

I was using ok google detection and google launcher, gave up after this bug. Nope, nothing has changed; same microphone problem is there.
