Instability with EC200/EC-200 USB cable

Hello,

Our customers are using an application which uses Sony Ericsson features phones as modems through serial communication. Lately, I've seen several users with Sony Ericsson J10 having trouble when using the EC200 USB cable. It seems that the communication channel fails of freezes shortly after the communication has started.

When using an older DCU-65 cable, it works just fine. The EC200 cable has just one ferrite bead in the middle. Could it be that this cable is susceptible for noise or interference leading to instability?

Hi Paul, though this question is a bit out of my league, I can say that I have not had any reports of instability with this particular cable previously. I’m sorry that was not much help, however without having access to an environment that I could test this I am unable to provide a better answer.
