Incorrect sorting in stock messaging app

Hello!

I've used a third-party app to backup and restore messages and after restore the multimedia messages (MMS) shows up at the end in each conversation.

I think this is because text messages are imported first and then comes the multimedia messages, and that the stock messaging app sorts the messages by timestamp of the importion and not their actual timestamp. Is that correct?

Is there a solution for this except using a third party messaging app?

Unfortunately there is no setting for this in the default messaging app so it is not possible to change. 

Do you still have this wrong sorting when you are getting new messages? Or does new message sort at the top?
