You'd have to isolate the issue for now and find out whether it is the port or the earpiece itself which is not working. Just to clarify, is it the one that came with the Xperia S? Try it on another phone or any player and see if you experience the same problem. Also try using another headset on your phone to make sure that it isn't the port that is not working.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers!

Hi Support team,
I'm facing the same problem. Earpiece on my Xperia S is not working. Please reply if there is a quick fix. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I don't see any answer from moderators to any of above replies. Is this site unresponsive? This is my first time posting..
Hi,
I had the same issue. My earpiece is not working after i had disconnected my headphones from the connector. Even when i play any video or music am not able to hear through speaker as well. I did something like this and worked
1. Restart your phone
2. Reset your setting by using "Setting Reset"
After doing the above two it didn't work however when i connect my headphones back am able to hear the sound and then i removed my headphones it worked.
I don't know how can i relate it but its weird. I suspect that my earphones settings must be enable after i disconnected it. Some Technical glitch. May be a patch can resolve this.
