Whilst I am generally very pleased with the overall operation under ICS, I am a little disappointed with the email app.
whilst I am delighted that it connects flawlessly to both of the exchange servers I use, I am dismayed to see that it does not support hyperlinks!
Is this an oversight we can expect to see corrected shortly?
if so, would it also be possible to auto detect telephone numbers and click to dial?
this is a basic app that google design, you have the market, the whole point of a smartphone it's a strong market, use K9 or Maildroid or another email app that you can customize as you please

So I can take that then that Sony will not be improving the app, that's OK.
FYI, I already have paid versions of both maildroid and enhanced email.
My only thought was that it may have been important to Sony to ensure their email app was up to scratch...I guess not.
We have the market so we don't have to rely on neither sony nor google to release apps or add this and that since we have options

To be perfectly honest, there is not one email app on the market that ticks all of the boxes.
When Sony released the Xperia range, I am pretty sure that amongst their targets was the iPhone. The principle that android is open source does not in any way give Sony a way out when it comes to providing a decent app; on the contrary, it should encourage them to build an app that would help to sell more phones.
have you tried moxier?
in fact sony could modify the email app and/or include another email app

Tried Moxier, tried K9, Kaiten, you name it, I've tried it. As I said none of them tick all the boxes.
you should add a list of things you want on a email app and post it here so others can suggest

Fairly simple really, the stock Email app is handling the exchange side really well.
I just want to be able to multi select mails for deletion or move, hyperlinks to work, and it would beat bonus if I could click and dial on phone numbers....
not took much.
and neither maildroid nor k9 does that?
