Hi there,
I have an issue with the update system for my Xperia Pro (MK16i 1249-5155) running a 2.3.4 Android OS (build 4.0.2.A.0.62).
Sony PC Companion always indicates that my phone is up-to-date: so, it's of course wrong. Is there a problem with Sony servers, please? Or should this SI number not be listed?
Thanks,
Well if PCC is based on Java, then its not much of a stretch to port that to Linux, there isn't many platforms that Java doesn't have a JRE for
I can confirm, the same problem on Windows7 64bit, I am repeatedly unable to download upgrade with the same error message:-(
PCC here needs Java, but PCC may not be based on Java :smileymischief:.......
But a Linux simple application only designed for updating phone should be a very good idea......
I tried and tried and tried and tried... on Windows Seven 64 and it never worked!
I don't tried on Linux with Wine: too dangerous for the phone of course.
But I have the chance to have kept on an old computer a WinXP 32 : and here it worked.
So...
I'm from Singapore, And same here, tried many many times, never works
I have not got ICS update yet for Xperia Pro MK-16i (SI 1248-9084) in India... Still PC Companion says "phone uptodate"...
Daily checking this page
http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/199354#199354
for my SI to be enlisted... Hmmm No updates being done...
I had exact the same problem too.
I went on to http://www.java.com/de/download/windows_xpi.jsp?locale=de and installed that Java thing afterwards the installation worked out perfectly
I hope this will help you.
I have the same problem with my Xperia Pro (SI 1249-8023). Update Service and PC Companion say that my phone is up to date and there are no any updates.
Problem solved! Thanks
I've just updated my phone to ICS!
