Do you know what version of Android you are on. Go to Settings>About Phone and then Android Version.
If you are on 2.1 then that is the highest version of android available to your phone. If it is still on Android 1.6 you can try to upgrade your phone using either PC Companion or Sony Update Service Update service - Sony Smartphones (Global UK English)
