Whenever I try to Calibrate the Proximity Sensor by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* , it gives me an error saying " TIME OUR ERROR , ERROR CODE -99 " . What is the issue and how can i solve it ?
I get the same message here so i suspect this is not possible.
If you have a problem with the proximity sensor first make sure that you don't have a cover or similar covering it. Also try updating the phone using PC Companion: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/
If you still have problems after that i recommend that you contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/) for assistance.
Thanks for your reply Rickard . I dont have any issues with proximity Sensor per se . But do you think that Sony will roll out any update for this issue ?
Can I please ask why you are trying to calibrate the sensor if it working correctly currently?

Well , it is an attempt to try out all the options that the phone provides . And if I am not mistaken , as a consumer , it is only fair that an option provided in the phone works fine and doesn't throw up an error . So do I expect an update from Sony to rectify this issue with the Z1 .
The service menu in the phone is not meant for end users. It's a menu used by our service locations.
The service menu may have options meant for other phone models then the one you have so this option may be for another phone model or it may require certain service equipment to work.
Thanks for your replyti guys . Really appreciate it . Though I have the opon of money refund , guess I will hold on to the phone . On a different note , when can the Xperia z1 users expect a 4.3 Android update for this phone . ?
