Xperia Ray new battery doesn't work

Hello. The original battery in my phone would only last roughly 8 hours.(without use)

I bought a new BA700 battery and put it to charge.

The only thing that's happening is the phone's splash screen. It shows "Sony Ericsson" for a few seconds, then it goes back off. Then after another few seconds, splash screen appears again, then goes back off again. And so on....

Could it be a bad battery? What can i do?

What happens if you put back your old battery? 

If you experience the same problem with the old battery I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion: 

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > "Repair phone".  Do this without the phone connected and then follow the instructions in the program.
