Heating issue?

AS THIS MOBILE HAVE SNAPDRAGON 615 CHIPSET , I THINK THIS MOBILE HAVE HEATING ISSUE 

AS ALL THE MOBILE LAUNCHED HAVING SNAPDRAGON 615 CHIPSET HAVE HEATING ISSUE , EVEN AFTER 10 MIN.. OF CONTINUES BROWSING THE HEATING ISSUE EXISTS

EVEN THE XIAOMI MI4i  LAUNCHED WITH 2ND GENERATION SNAPDRAGON 615 CHIPSET STILL HAVE SAME ISSUE 

SO HOPE SONY WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE SO THAT USER CAN USE HANDSET WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM 

AND CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL THAT EXACT RELEASE DATE THERE IS NO HELP WITH XPERIA CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOR THE RELEASE DATE

Heating is dependant on what you are doing like taking videos or watching youtube and playing games

I am shocked at the amount of heat the Sony M4 aqua generates! I would never recommend this phone to anyone. A friend of mine has a three year old daughter who happened to pick up my phone and put it to her ear and it burnt her skin without leaving a mark but scared her so much that, she started howling! No phone should heat up so much that it becomes unbearable even for adults like myself to hold to our ears! I am going to take Sony to a consumer forum and thereafter to court for producing and selling a hazardous phone to Indian consumers! The phone heats up whether it is charging or if one is using more than two apps simultaneously! It gets so hot that even holding the phone to my ears hurts.and what is shocking is that in their settings Sony make a small mention that the camera may heat up when the camera isn't even turned on! I advice people not to purchase ANY Sony M4 Aqua.I shall also take this to the media.

@uliwooly u serious? I am using the phone for about 10 mins before the upper half gets really really hot. It doesn't have to switch off due to safety measures to realize that there is a problem. Sony should either recall the line or issue a software update solving the problem. I am writing this on my phone right now on landscape mode and already my left hand feels the heat.

I suggest install an app like Cool Master https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.precinct.coolmaster&hl=es_419 to monitors and logs device temperature in real time, and displays temperature change curves. So you can post those values here to be able to analyze them.

Sony has released an Update, I got it yesterday, its some 355 mb.

It has solved heating problem to a great extent. On opening camera it does not heat at all as it used to.

Also while playing heavy games it does heat but not as bad as it used to. So you cannot fry an egg on it :(,

I Jeff...I bought new Xperia mobile ph M4 aqua...my experience is harrowing...all.I do is keep my ph charging thru the day n it discharges as if flood gates open up monent I put the ph on data network..either wifi or GSM...the other issue is very high level of heating of the phone while charging or talking or browsing...I didnt expect such poor quality junk from Sony...I even showed it to the dealer frm whom I bought this device..but didnt get satisfactory response...I am very unhappy with this ph and hv already discouraged many frnds frm buying it...

I brought Xperia m4 two weeks before... Its overheating after 10 minutes of usage and battery dropping also more..I brought it for Sony quality but I facing wrost problem which I brought for 20k...very disappointed

Dear Sony Team

I bough a M4 for my wife in replacement of an old  Xperia T middle of July and she complain also about overheating issue. I also having be able to experince it myself. After having use the phone, and disable the screen, sometimes the phone still overheat itself witout using it and recovering for this condition is only possible using the small reset button next to the SD card.

I am extremly disappointed about this issue, because it is a blocking one. As I see in this forum, lost of uses complain about overheating issue and this is not acceptable.

This phone cannot be recommended to anyone because the price I not only the criteria. There is lots of other manufacturer making great middle range phones but Sony is going to loos customers if quality is not provieded.

In fact I do not want to loos time in proving agains Sony Support that this phone is rubbish but will throw it away and bought a Motorola Moto X instead.

Please do not hesitate to forward my statement to your product managment in order that they will know what customer are thinking.

I can only encourage you to improve your product quality.
