I have a sony xperia aqua m4 and as of this morning the message "unfortunately, google play services has stopped" keeps appearing on my screen. i google the problem from my pc but seems the solutions are generic and i cannot complete them as instructed with my phone. Are there any solutions for this particular phone? This is very frustrating! Thanks
Do you have any antivirus? taskillers? have you disable any apps?
Hi cjq73,
Welcome to the community,
Really sorry to hear about this, let's see if we can help resolve this for you.
You could try a Data clear on some specific applications.
Apps > Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Data
Then
Apps > Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Data
Then
Apps > Settings > Apps > Google Services Framework > Storage > clear Data
Once done, try using the device as normal. Let me know how you get on.
I'm not really clear on the ins and outs of using the phone. I'd just like to know if there is a straight forward way to get rid of this error.
Follow Jake's suggestion.
Hi, thanks. I tried clearing the data but when I go into google play services there is no data clear option. Only manage space and clear cache. I can clear the cache but it kicks me out when I click on manage space
Sounds like you may need to boot to Safe mode to follow the Google Services Data clear. Use the hyperlink below to boot into safe mode and then follow the instructions again.
Sorry but that won't work either. I got it to safe mode. The message still appears. I can clear google play store data but still can't do anything with google play services.
I also do not have google services frameworks
