Hi there, Hoping someone can help me - for a couple of months now (probably since downloading 4.4.4) my Z2 is occasionally prone to a highly erratic touch screen - it's not that it's just over sensitive, it literally has a mind of its own. It swipes left or right, up or down, selects things I never touched, opens menus or new tabs, and does all of that at light speed, effectively rendering it unusable. Usually if I lock the screen for a few seconds that solves the problem, but today this went on for ages. I really don't want to be without my phone for weeks while I send it back to Sony - has anybody else encountered this issue?
Hi, could you try running your phone for a little while in Safe Mode (link below)......this will show if there are any apps etc interfering with the running :smileysmileywink:

When your device does this is it warm or hot or just after playing games etc
I have started to have the same issue with my Z2 phone exactly as you discribe (I am on version 4.4.4 as well). The screen seems to have a mind of its own scrolling up and down at erratic speeds, jumping all over the place in apps and worst of all it happens when I am trying to unlock the phone using pattern recognition and whips all over the place! Similarly if I turn it off and leave the phone, it stops and it seems random as to when it occurs. Did your's finally resolve the issue or did you find something whilst using in Safe Mode?
I too have this problem. I discovered it is beause the screen is receiving touch input when not being touched. To find this I enabled developer mode and turned on visual indication of touches. The top of the screen indicates that it is being touched when I am not touching it.
The back of the phone cracked within a few months of having it. Likely due to heat while streaming videos. Now the front bottom corner has cracked with no impact while streaming music. Since the front cracked the phone is having the ghost touch problem.
