Dropped xperia z1compact. Now Sony refuses to fix it

I dropped my phone last week. The screen and back are intact but it seems as if the phone gets too hot and maybe it is a motherboard problem. So I got in touch with Sony support.

Sony has the worst support policy and I'll never buy a Sony product again!

When I contacted them, I was told that since I bought the phone in the United States, they will not service it in India!!
That is insane! It is a genuine Sony product and I have paperwork to prove it. Sony should fix their products regardless of where they are bought!!
Instead the company representative told me to take the phone to the US to get it fixed or try a non Sony repair place!!
First of all, I doubt that their center in India can't fix it.. And if not, Why can't Sony send it to the US to their center and get the phone fixed for me? Or at least give an estimate of the repair costs?

The phone is now a total bust because Sony parts are rare and I don't have the patience to pay half the phone's price for a generic repair.
I'm totally disgruntled. Really really disappointed in Sony.. They are clearly not interested in keeping their customers. Like I said.. No more!
This is why people like iPhones and their universal service. At least you feel like a valued customer.

Unfortunately, like other companies, warranty is provided for regional coverage, not worldwide.

@Ps27

I'm sorry to hear about your issue but the warranty it's only good to the country or region in which the product purchase took place. That's not just Sony but you can read about "Limited Warranty" on other brands and/or products, such as Apple

Here's an example

Seems to me that the OP was not asking for a warranty claim but simply for his phone to be repaired by an official Sony repair facility; he even asked for an estimate of the cost.

If it is the case that Sony is refusing to consider a repair & is directing him to a 3rd party repair, it does seem pretty poor

Yes Paul, the phone is outside of warranty now since I'd was bought in July 2014. Indeed all I wanted was an official repair or at least an estimate of repair so I can decide if it is worth the cost. but Sony India refused to even examine at my phone once I told them it was bought in the United States.
