Double tap to wake up - Z3+

Hello! I've found the double tap to wake up to be very sensitive when the phone is put in my pocket, the screen unlocks on its own and sometimes the flashlight gets toggled.

I'm on the latest firmware.

Are there others who face this issue as well?

Have you applied a protective film and/or tempered glass?

As for the flashlight and the other "issues" while the phone it's in your pocket, most likely you are pressing the physical camera button w/o realizing it.

The z3+ comes with a screen guard applied out of the box.
I guess the screen turns on when a notification/call arrives even if it is in the pocket, the proximity sensor can be put to use here.

I don't have a Z3+ but tested a Z3 and the screen should not turn on when you receive a message, do you have a third party messaging app or another notification app?

@Johan could you check this?

I have everything in stock, no other notification apps installed.

The screen unlocks itself on its own when it is in the pocket with double tap to wakeup set to on, doesn't otherwise. I don't think notifications trigger this behaviour.

ok then, there's nothing wrong with your phone, just that double tap to wake up works really good.

Really good that I'm scared it's going to become skynet.
Jokes apart, it could work in parallel with the peoximity sensors so that it doesn't trigger itself on when in the pocket like the Lumias.
For now, I have double tap to wake up turned off when i know the phone is going to be in my pocket for longer periods.

what if you keep the screen away from your leg (if you keep it in your pocket) perhaps that might help.

I don't want that because that way the screen is more exposed to getting hit on something.

That's correct but there's no other way around, unless you buy a protective case that has a screen cover.
