Does ICS resolve the overheating problem on MINI?

Can anyone answer this? I need to know if I should continue waiting for ICS on my phone or go ahead and apply the unofficial fix for it.

thanks

I don't know why are there so much same posts about Overheating and about when is ICS comming, just read before post. Thang god my service provider doesn't sell phone uncallibrated :smileyhappy:. If i had that problem there will be no solution for me, because there is no Sony Service in Serbia...there is a fix(script) which requires rooting the phone, which can lead to Bricking it(depends on your rooting knowlage). Thing that i wounder is, if there is script for fixing it, why doesn't the Sony insert some thing in PCC or SUS when you plug Xperia Mini in it, a "special" button for callibrating. Which would probably look something like this:

Callibration(button)

Description:

"If you have overheating problems with your phone, click this to fix it".
It's just an example ofc.

I'm developing custom roms which i test on Xperia X8, i have made ICS ported for it. And works as a charm, but not an offical release. Maybe im couple of months it comes for public Slightly_smiling_Face

I agree. Since there is so many phones out there with this issue, Sony could include some fix in the phone to calibrate if it is possible. I dont know what this calibration fix done, but I know that it solved the issue on my phone and they have repaired it.

So much same questions about overheating and same posts... only trashing the forum I think.

I see that mostly new people that come to the forum, the first question is the one that was mainly answered thousand of times  heh.

Yes so many questions about the overheating and there will be many more. This is a major issue and completely ignored by Sony. There should be a sticky official post about this with FAQ and how to fix it. Imagine you buy a brand new phone and is practially useless if the phone is in a location that has 30C+ degrees.  You come to the forum and to find an answer  but all you find is speculation, no official word on the issue. Sony's handling of this issue is what is trashing the forums, not the frustrated users asking the question.

A sticky post made by moderator or support stuff would help new users. I agree. Seems that they forgot about us with xperia mini phones. I was lucky that here in our country we have a good se support centre.

I took the risk to ran the script myself as it was that or the phone to the bin, and it worked perfectly well.

However, I did it when the phone was on GB and I have now upgraded it to ICS so I am wondering the the script stays...time will tell.

If an update with PC Companion or Update Service doesn't solve the issue I'd recommend you to hand your phone in to one of your local authorized service centers so they can take a look at it.

Contact your local Sony Mobile support for info of the process of handing the phone it. You can find contact info on the link below. Slightly_smiling_Face

Sorry, but you think, that it is OK to buy NEW mobile, bring it home and after few minutes of gameplay or browsing it is impossible to use it properly?

So I should pack it, pay postage and send for 3 weeks to service?

P.S.: This mobile was released 10 months ago. Why do you still sell it (if it is hardware issue) or why it was not fixed in firmware (if it is software issue)?

P.P.S.: You discontiunued local services in our country (Czech republic) since 2011-08-01, so there is only 1 (one) in capital city. This service (Arvato) has also VERY bad reputation.

I am pretty sure, that this questions will be ignored by Sony (again)

If you have updated your phone the remaining option is to hand it in so we can get the possibility to fix it, via a authorized service location. In some cases you have to post your phone to another city, but that is the only way we're able to help out I'm afraid.

Contact your local Sony Mobile support for further information in the case. Slightly_smiling_Face
