I heard the usual beep saying I had got a message so opened my Sony Xperia Arc S phone and the message symbol from the bottom line on my display had disappeared. After searching for a while I found it had gone into the 'MEDIA' box which also appears on the bottom line.
So it is now so tiny I cant see if I have missed any messages , and if I receive one I have to click onto the media box and then onto the messaging symbol to open it up.
What is going on, why has this happened automatically without any warning and why a change for the worse?
Any help or suggestions gladly received.

You can easily change the position of your apps on your homescreen. To get back the messaging application to where you had it before, tap on the media folder. Press and hold on the messaging application until it vibrates. Then you will be able to drag and drop the messaging app to where you like to have it.
You can move around and more applications to the homescreen this way. You can also create folders by drag and drop an application over another on the homescreen.
