Cut and paste bug?

Hi - When I copy and paste some text (e.g. to send someone a link), that text keeps inserting itself into  a message in the standard Xperia text message app. I'll explain with an example:

• I copy some paste from a web page and paste it into a new text message to someone
• The message sends OK
• When I go back into the text message app, the copied text has been pasted into a new, empty message
• If I want to send a message, I need to delete the pasted text before typing
• The only way I've found to get around this is to reboot the phone

All of the software is up to date and it's a UK SIM-free phone. I've probably not described the problem very well, but has anybody else seen this?

backup your messages (SMS, MMS) and then 

settings > apps > all > messaging > clear data > restart your phone
