Xperia Tipo Dual - Speaker remains muted

After listening to fm radio with headphones, the loudspeaker does not resume to normal operation (it remains muted) when the headphone is disconnected. The ring tone or alarm sound is very quiet and to hear a caller i must switch to the loudspeaker. When i plug the headphone back in, the music player starts. 

This happened before and could be cured with plugging/unplugging the headphone several times under different conditions. But this time the error is permanent.

Rebooting or removing the battery will not cure the problem. 

The tipo dual has Android 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.8 perf., Build-Nr. 11.0.A.6.5

Re-install the latest update if that doesn't work then stop by a Sony repair center

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

With the information supplied, I suggest trying the following.

Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Smart Connect > Clear Data

Now try use the device as per normal.

Hi Jake,

thanks for your suggestion.

On my tipo dual under Settings > Apps > All there is no Smart Connect in the list. It goes from Skype to SMS/MMS and to Soundrekorder and Sprachsuche. Maybe the app has a different name in the german version, or is it an add-on i have not installed?
