com.google.android.partnersetup is killing my battery

I have a rooted phone so when my battery started draining after the update I was able to have a look and see what what happening. the app com.google.android.partnersetup is doing loads of wake locks and preventing the phone from sleeping correctly and so draining the battery.

My question is, what is com.google.android.partnersetup and is it safe to disable it? I have disabled it and haven't seen any negative effect yet. my battery is back to it's normal usage of 1% an hour.

That is not the cause of standby drain, I don't have com.google.android.partnersetup and still experience bad standby drain that is sometimes 1% and othertimes 3% per hour. Did you restart the phone? This is more likely the cause of the improvement not disabling that service.

you are correct, i did reboot my phone and for a wide my phone was running normally, now it is showing that google services is draining
