Charging problem

I try to shut down the phone to charge it but it keeps re-starting itself. I plug it in, power the phone down and it restarts. Same when I plug it in when it is already off. Is this normal?

Don't worry friend. It's absolutely normal. The phone is smart enough to avoid overcharging of the battery which is essential to have a good battery life. Have you ever noticed that the phone stops charging once it reaches 100% charge. You can see the current status of the phone battery by going to Settings> About Phone> Status

The graph below of my phone charging overnight is a perfect example of the smart charge function of your phone

As you can see it climbs to 100% and then stops charging until the charge drops below about 92% then it charges up again and then repeats the cycle.  This protects your battery from over charging and getting damaged over time.

Suze, How you made that graph?

With an app called Battery Graph, free on the market. It gives you the option to export .csv to excel and then turn it into a graph.  I am trying to help someone in another forum with weird battery drain so we are comparing graphs and usage in the *#*#4636#*#* and battery usage section.
