Certain EMOJIS appearing as Box with 'X' in it.

Certain emojis appearing as simply "a box with an X in it" on apps such as Line and Instagram.

How can I solve this issue? 

My keyboard and software are both updated to the latest versions already. 

I tried downloading Swiftkey and other keyboard apps to try and solve it also, no results.

I think the emojis that aren't readable are originating from iPhones. 

I added a screen shot of the emoji error I am seeing. The first 2 in the screenshot appear fine, but the last one...WHY???

This is a small, but super annoying issue. If you can help me on this please do!

You have to contact the app developers (line, instagram) regarding this issue, not Sony, could you upload the picture to box or dropbox and post the link as we can't see it until it's approved by a moderator.

The iPhone user said it's probably an indication that the emoji is in B/W because there actually was no 3rd emoji.

However, when I use Line instead of certain emojis showing up, only the box and X appear.

Sorry if it's not a Sony issue, but I thought since I've seen it on more than 1 app it might be the phone. 

Still adapting to using this phone, with my old Xperia I don't remember having this issue.

Ok I see it, this appears when  your phone can't view a special symbol, characters or emoticons in your device

I have this issue too. Or rather, my wife does. We have the same phone, z3 compact. The difference is I use textra and she uses stock for messaging. When I updated (textra) I got new emojis. These show like the screenshot in the first post for her. So not an issue with iPhones.

I guess Sony needs to update their firmware for it to work. Or atleast the messaging app.
