Hi,
Can anyone please help?
When I'm on mobile data, I can't download from Play Store or Gmail. If I have an email with an attachment and forward it to a Hotmail account, I can download it no problem (by opening Hotmail in Chrome).
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks,
Nick
Hi byrd1uk
It is possible that you are using WAP settings over Full Internet settings. Try a settings download and then try again.
Menu > Settings > More > Internet Settings > Accept Disclaimer > Choose network
Once downloaded, try downloading from the Play Store.
Could you check if the APN your phone is using for mobile data has a proxy and port entered?
You can check this if you go to Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names. Tap the APN that is enabled, this should be the one that is used for mobile data, then tap on Proxy and remove anything that is entered in that field. Do the same for Port, then tap [menu] and save the changes. You should preferably also reboot your phone after doing this.
If this should cause your mobile data connection to stop working completely you can re-download the Internet settings in the way that Jake described above.
You better go and check, if Play Store app is on whitelist for mobile data downloads...
Data usage > Google Play services > Restrict app background data, uncheck
second thing to check is this:
Set up automatic updates
To set up automatic updates for all apps on your mobile device:
Open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
Touch the Menu icon Google Play Store Menu Icon > Settings.
Touch Auto-update apps.
Select an option:
Auto update apps at any time: Updates apps at any time, using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only: Updates only when you are connected to Wi-Fi.
