Hi there,
I seem to have lost the ability to access the contents of my internet storage when connected to a PC, even though the Xperia P shows the "internal storage connected" as a notification.
Most of the times my Computer doesn't display the Xperia P icon. Sometimes it does, but then I can't see the "Internal storage" folder for the Xperia P. Less frequently I am able see the "Internal Storage" icon, showing the used and free space, but then it contains no folders.
I've tried 3 different PCs all with the same result (Win XP, Vista and 7), which makes me believe this is an issue related to the phone and not PC OS related.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
R u getting any error while trying to connect to the PC ?
And also try with other USB Cable if possible...
Hi,
I don't get any errors when connecting to the PC. I've tried with 2 different USB cables in 3 PCs with 3 different OSs.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing right now.
Hi,
MegaShark did you tried connecting you're phone in MSC mode...?? as far as i can see from here you're phone is connected in MTP(media storage mode) right..??
try this..
go to SETTINGS>XPERIA>CONNECTIVITY>USB CONNECTION MODE>CHANGE IT TO MSC(mass storage mode) and see if it does the trick....
keep us posted...:smileyhappy:
Hi,
the Xperia P only allows MTP mode.
Try using this or this.
Copy your Data over WiFi to your Computer and perform a Repair via SUS.
(You can access your Phone by typing the address given by your Phone in the App, in Windows Explorer (The bar that says "C:\Program Files\Blah Blah Blah"). You don't really need a third party software to get access to your Phone via FTP).
Hope it helps
If I understood correctly, a repair completely deletes internal storagen contents, right?
What about a firmware upgrade? I'm still on the 6.0.b.1 firmware.
the internal storage won't be deleted , but the contents in phone memory will. the best thin to do is backup with PCC.
The contents in phone memory will be deleted for both repairs AND firmware upgrades?
Thanks
for firmware upgrades i think it won't be deleted, but repairing your phone will delete it. i advice you back up with PCC
