how can poweramp player play the song so loud and clear and why cant walkman do it??? i mean there is no option to increase the sound in stock except we have to use 3rd party apps. Walkman is a great app but poweramp kills it. Aint it possible to sony to implement this loudness and clarity in both headset and speaker.

I use power amp also - speaker boost works with walkman app but it's a bit hit and miss, the walkman app navigation is also a pain - simple back arrow would be a great help

I think your ears got problem. I'm using ZL. As you said i downloaded poweramp 2 mins ago. The sound system no different between Sony walkman and poweramp. Please go to the doctor to check your ears.

Dude seriously you need get yo facts correct. Check out it's equalizer it's bass boost. With custom settings it just rocks. Earlier I used to hear outside noises very easily when I used provided ear phones. If you wanna know it's potential you should play with poweramp settings. I know what I'm speaking. Sony Sound is good but it's not good when there is lots of noises.  outside. So it was a request that they're should be an option to increase the sound. We know what's ideal for our ears.

Presumably so they can comply with European Directives.

If Sony et al supplied a player which was capable of the, let's face it. potentially damaging volume achievable via Poweramp or other non-stock players, they could not only be in contravention of such directives but also open to class actions etc regarding potential or perceived hearing loss.

Personally I have no problems with volume using the Walkman app as I play through a pair of http://www.monsterinspiration.com/headphones/over-ear/active-noise-cancelling.aspx which, with the noise cancelling active, boosts the sound considerably!
