Camera key not functioning

In my new xperia Sola handset i noticed my camera key is not working . When i press it focusing is happening but cannot take pictures. When i try to press on screen i can take pictures. Is this software problem? how can i resolve this. Pls help me

i tried it many time but not working. when i press it only focusing is happening and a green square comes in screen but click is not working. I think it was working on first day when i bought the phone last week. After that i had tried to update software to ICS but was stucked up in middle. Will be this problem bcos of that?

open the camera app > menu > check the capture method

i had checked that also.. Both camera key and screen touch options are selected..

i had tested phone using function tester application. In that camera key is not getting detected.. but i belive it was working when i bought the phone last week.. this can happen due to software issue? the key is not totally malfunctioning as i m getting the green box  on screen when i press on it . I can get it to sony service center next month only. Pls suggest me wat to do

Does you soft press the Camera key or hard press the key?

Soft press - green box appears and begins focusing

Hard press - take picture

If can, turn off the screen by pressing once the lock/off key...

Next, long press the Camera key (to activate fast capture!)...

If it successful, the screen ons and directly goes to Camera app and start capture a photo...

Still unsuccessful, remove the cover and spot the area where the Camera key is and see if there's any damage to it...
