Camera button don't take shots

The camera button of my xperia z1 doesn't take shots, I press it hard but nothings happen when I'm in the camera app. But when I press it hard and when I'm in the lock screen or home it brings me to the camera app. Please help me. Thank you

Hi @jake30, 

Try clearing data for the Camera app, Settings > Apps > All > Camera > Clear data, restart your phone and test it again.
No pictures will be deleted when you clear data for the Camera app.

Do the camera key work if you test it in Diagnostics (Settings > About phone > Diagnostics)?

That is strange. Would you mind testing another camera app, Google Camera for example, and see if you can use the camera key to take a picture then or not?

Hi bro sorry for the late reply I'm on the school all day. I installed Google camera and guess what. When I press hard the camera button it's taking shots now! But still it doesn't take shots in the real camera app by Sony.

What if you test the normal camera app in safe mode, do the camera button work then?
