Messaging App seems corrupted.

When I try to open a message from further down the list, the top message opens!  I have re-booted severalt times and it clears for a short while then reverts to opening the wrong message. 

Is this a known issue?

Hi @pdes1,

Try clearing data for the Messages app, Settings > Apps > All > Messages > Clear data, and see if this behaviour still remains.

Clearing data for the Messaging app will not delete any of your messages.

I have an issue with an SMS App. It always shows at least one unread message, even if I delete all of them. Once I deleted a contact and since that I have this issue. I tried to clear all the data of the messaging app, stopping it and so on, but it didn't help. I don't want to do a master-reset. Now I have to use some other messenger instead, I use Textra, and it has an option to mark all messages as read, but the authentic one does not!

The History Eraser did help, thanks.

BTW for those with the same problem.
This app has a separate option to delete locked messages, I don't know was it critical or not, I checked it.

BTW for Sony programmers, when my problem persisted: when I switched from Messaging to another app as default sms app, it stopped showing fake one unread message, and when switched back, the issue was back again.
