How about to have an official bug fix / wish list here on the forum. Forum users to add their bugs and suggestions for continuous improvement to the Arc handset for the benefit of all Arc users and Sony!
Come on Sony forum reps, have you learnt from the past, are you up for the challenge?
I can kick things off with the following
Bug Fix / Wish List for next update after 2.3.3
Add support for BBC iPlayer downloads - support WMDRM10 or OMADRM2
Bug with user guide - Sony ref 90434693
Bug when connecting with PC companion, handset/PC companion reporting different battery levels - Sony ref 90430880
yes! i totally agree with this!
what i've noticed so far:
I know, there are apps which provide remedies. but i mean, come on... no 'turn off repeat'? are you kidding me?
Sony still denying missed call bug see below. As I have sent in my Arc due to the cracking in the housing, SBE will be also looking at the missed call issue too.

Paul: Hi Steve, thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson UK Chat Support. My name is Paul, how can I help you today?
steve huggons: when i have a missed call i clear this
steve huggons: when the mobile is powered off and on the missed call appears again and needs to be cleared again
steve huggons: all my colleagues have same issue, even on xperia play 2.3.3 3 branding
steve huggons: my handset is generic arc 2.3.3
Paul: OK, can I ask when you switching off the phone are you removing the battery also?
steve huggons: no
steve huggons: try it on your arc, see if you have the same issue
Paul: Give me two moments and I'll have a look at it, I have the Arc myself and never noticed it before.
steve huggons: ok
Paul: OK, just tried it and didn't get the same fault. Can I just confirm the build number of the handset please?
steve huggons: 145
steve huggons: dont know what build my colleagues play is, or indeed all of the other users on your forum that also have same issue
Paul: Yea, same as the one I have. 3.0.1.A.0.145
steve huggons: explain to me what you did to test the bug
Paul: I got a work mate to ring me, I didn't answer the call. The handset then displayed one missed call, I read the notificatio, I then switched the handset off and then back on.
steve huggons: ok
steve huggons: have you taken a look on the forums about all of the users who are facing this issue
steve huggons: paul
Paul: I personally haven't but I have been aware of it, it's difficult for us if we cannot replicate the problem. All I really suggest is that I escalate the matter see if we can test the matter further.
steve huggons: please do
steve huggons: i have posted my handset to sbe to take a look at this and also why my casing is cracking above senser on the front.
steve huggons: do you have any further info on the arc case cracking saga
Paul: Right, not heard of anything on this subject before. Again all I can suggest is that I again escalate the matter, see if we can gather some information regarding it.
steve huggons: And finally the icons rearranging following a power off/on
Paul: Are you meaning in the menu or on the homescreen?
steve huggons: in the menu
Paul: So how do have the icons set to be viewed?
steve huggons: however the user has arranged them
steve huggons: same issue for any arc / play user
Paul: Are there any specific apps that are doing this?
steve huggons: any apps that have been installed
steve huggons: have you not noticed this
steve huggons: as you have an arc
Paul: So the preinstalled apps do no move?
Paul: No I personally haven't seen any of these problems.
Paul: Can I just confirm something, even if you have the view to be set to Alphabetical they move also? Or is it just when the handset is set to own order.
steve huggons: strange as your colleague on this chat, told me that this was working as designed. and when i said that you would not expect your pc to rearrange you icons after rebooting, I was told "well the arc is not a pc"!
steve huggons: perhaps you should also esculate this issue and also take a look at your forums.
steve huggons: As you are escalating these issues can you please provide me with a ref number

Emma: No one in the office has complained about this
Emma: Nor any other customers
steve huggons: have you tried this just now?

steve huggons: other users reporting same issue on your forums
Emma: We will liase with our support forum team and see what they have to say about it
steve huggons: so when will sony contact me about this bug
Emma: As stated you will not be contacted
steve huggons: or are you suggesting that all the users affected should reset / reflash mobile and return to service centre when unresolved
steve huggons: can you ask xxxx or xxx to give me a ring
steve huggons: xxxxxxxxxxx
Emma: They are not available ufnortunately
steve huggons: shall i return the handset to be looked at then and suggest others do the same
Emma: Ok
Emma: Your feedback has been passed on
steve huggons: ok i will post this info to advise arc users to return handsets to service centre as this is not a software bug?
Emma: This is not a bug
It does come with an equalizer, open the music player -> press MENU and then you can tap on Equalizer
Goole Music its great and if you live in the US you can test drive the cloud part of the app

SE support should spend some time checking this forum
hey uliwooly, thanks for your reply.
i'm sorry, i meant something like an five-band-equalizer.
but nevertheless, i guess i'll check out google music someday soon!
I have just received my new replacment handset from sony. I must be really unlucky, as the missed call issue is also happening on this unit. Strange one as Sony say this is not a bug!
Even more strange is that my colleagues play has the same issue.
Will call them at 09:00 to report
Is your Arc locked to a network?
missed call issue:
not locked to an network.
just spoke to sony and they will be raising to back office and also take a look at android support as they think this maybe affecting other android devices. they were not able to replicate the fault on their handsets when they tested this out.
this is an issue that goes back to the X10, but it only affects few phones, that's why I asked if it was locked to a network.
