Bluetooth Problems ARC S Android 4

Hello,

after the Update to Android 4 I can not pair my Arc s with Toyota Avensis Bluetooth (2010). With the old Android 2.3.4 everything works fine. After searching the Toyota Bluetooth Kit and I try to Connect I get a message "FAILURE" from the Toyota Bluetooth Kit. I try to repair the Phone with Companion but the problem is still the same. I can not connect the Arc S with the Bluetoot Kit.

Sony Support doesn't know the Problem. Has anybody these Bluetooth isue too? Does anybody know how I can solve the Problem?

Thanks for your Help

Hi, had similar problems pairing Xperia Ray (updated to Android 4.0.4) to Suzuki Swift, but succeeded  to pair the phone, thanks to Marcin's idea.

Phone detected car kit but skipped the step of demanding the pairing code, returning immediately "Failed".

Went around: picked a music in the phone's player and sent it to car kit via Bluetooth (as if for another phone); car kit recognized phone and phone this time demanded the code! ; entered the code and car kit passed to the paired devices list of the phone (the transmission of the music failed);

Restarted the normal way of pairing the phone with car kit, but this time it was already in the paired devices list - no need for code. Just chose the car kit label and got done with it. Finally paired, making calls and listen to my music via the car media!

By the way, before succeeding with Suzuki, tried the normal way with Audi A4 and had no problems at all...

This message is for any member of the Sony Xperia Support Team who is around to read this message.

Over the last month or so I have read many comments about the in-car bluetooth connect problems since the ICS upgrade.  I too have experienced the inability to connect to my (Nissan) in-car system following the ICS upgrade.

Could someone at Sony acknowledge the issue and indicate what and when they are going to do something about it.

In my household there are several other (none Sony) ICS devices that connect first time and everytime.

It very much looks like a Sony problem. If you are not going to fix it any time soon then I will go an buy a different (not Sony) phone. I don't think this is doing the Sony brand any favours.

I have several issues with Sony products but that is for another forum.

Glad I found this forum.

I have a verso 57 plate and cannot pair my arc S on ics. No where to enter the passcode and as far as I am aware I cant change the passcode from the default 1234.

I hope someone can help.

apart from this the arc s is a good phone

I'm reporting this issue now for weeks, but Sony doesn't seems to know the problem and doesn't seem to work on a solution.

Only solution is to buy a non Sony mobile...???

1. Install ASTRO bluetooth module and ASTRO file browser on your ICs Xperia ARC S.

2.run astro BT on your mobile with your radio car on.

3. Follow the steps given by your car sytem.

It works in my ARCS with ICS 4.1. and 4.0.

I can verify, as enagaka writes, that installing ASTRO Bluetooth and ASTRO file Browser (there is some interdependence so both are needed) provides a means to connect with in-car systems that require a passcode such as 1234 to be entered into the phone.  In my case it is the Nissan Connect requesting it from the phone.  ICS 4.0 on the Xperia Arc S does not provide the user interface to enter a passcode but the ASTRO Bluetooth App (download from Playstore) does provide this function.  It also shows the Call list and Contacts list. I have not tried playing MP3's yet but I don't anticipate an issue.  It may be a bit of extra baggage to do what the phone should already do but it does work.:smileyhappy:

it is NOT my work, I had only seen it in other forum (http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=386860)

But the most important is that it works in our Xperia ARC S.
