Pranjay, i have to agree with Arnab here...you might experience a hardware problem and you should take the phone to a service.

People say battery life suks? take a look below...this was taken after a full week of using my Xperia (still GB): not logged on to FB, using WI-Fi about 4 times a day to check for updates or browse the web and talking about an average of 30 minutes of calls per day. How the hell can anybody say the battery is a sucker on this one?

6 days !!! Looks like you use it as a ordinary phone, not smartphone  Few calls and some WiFi. Not even display. That's not what some one would buy a smartphone for. I believe there are no apps too.

I use it as an "on demand" smart-phone. I run no kind of ATK on it and regarding apps, i have more than a few running full time (Power Saver, Notification Light Bar etc). The point of my post was to prove that the standard battery on the Xperia is not bad at all (sure, on heavy phone usage 2 days was the best i got).

Btw Ghencea, any word on the ICS update on your part of the country? Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes (i'm from Iasi, no ICS update here)

 Romani peste tot. I'm not interested on ICS yet so I can't tell you if ICS is available for us. Still on GB 184 f/w. It can't run smoothier than GB because of the RAM and all. And yes you're right, 2 days battery on a normal use. Salutari la IASI !

i finally found out what the problem was its just i read somewhere that signal strength has a huge effect on* battery life so when its full my battery drains only 2 % overnight and when its less it takes up quarter of my battery . Slightly_smiling_Face not an hardware problem

just want to ask here also(i asked this already to other topics regarding battery and standby mode). why is it that the cell standby of GB is longer than ICS? at mikepatrick post, we can see that his cell standby is 32%, im having that much cell standby too when i am still in GB even if i text all day, there is no running apps, wifi, bluetooth, mobile data, etc. are all turned off, screen brightness is on its lowest level too, but now in ICS, the cell standby is on 2% only most of the time even if i sleep(extended standby mode is on), the highest cell standby i've seen so far since i upgrade to ICS is 9%. does anyone know whats the reason behind this? again there is no running apps, wifi, bluetooth, mobile data, etc. are all turned off, screen brightness is on its lowest level. thank you very much in advance.

Hi Ghencea, ICS for me is more of a curiosity than a necessity (GB works excellent) but i doubt Romania will get it soon (my XU is Orange branded). Still, glad to see romanians here Slightly_smiling_Face

Pranjay, if signal strength is a issue where you live, i strongly recommand this tiny free app called "Network Signal Booster" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.freshnetwork) . It did wonders for me, as the house i live in has a few "grey areas".

i have had the same problem.. 25-30% drain overnight with nothing on. switching to gsm only network mode solves the problem. i dont know.. my gb version used to last 4 or 5 days with wcdma(preferred)/gsm network mode. if i switch to wcdma(preferred)/gsm mode the battery drains out in about 20 hrs without doing anything.. this is happening only with ics.. have posted this elsewhere too.. what is the use of buying a 3g enabled phone if this kind of ics update??

i wrongly posted this reply elsewhere on another thread..
