Backup of K800i with PC Companion

Hallo,

I tried to make a backup of my Sony Ericsson K800i telephone and memory card with PC Companion, but this fails with error after begin of data transfer from telephone to computer. Without telephone system memory and without included additional memory card, only backing up contacts, sms, calendar, etc., backup work.

So I tried the older program PC Suite, installed in paralell to PC Companion, and with PC Suite program I could successful make a backup and restore task. Has any body similiar experience or if developer of PC Companion reads this thread, why does this not work with PC Companion using Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone.

P.S: the alternative using "MyPhoneExplorer" works also.

I have not noticed this for K800i before but I suspect that PCC in this case is more sensitive to some information that you have stored, maybe seeing it as corrupt data and therefore fails. I will pass on your feedback about this. I'm however glad to hear that you got it working using PCS and MPE.

I did two things: copy all user data from SD card to computer with file explorer from PC Companion and then a did format the SD card and copied back all user data again with file explorer from PC Companion. Then backup & restore works on my K800i with PC Companion also (some cached files on SD card becomes deleted with formating, May be, they causes this).

Problem solved for today.
