backup contacts

I am not able to backup my data after installing 4.3...please help I don't care about apps but my contacts are very important...plex help

Before updating...I backup my contacts and apps through Sony preinstalled app (appbackup and restore) but after updating I am not able to restore the same as it giving (not compatible application error)...please help me I don't want application but I really want my contacts back.....plz suggest something useful....

do you have a gmail acount syncronised with your device before you updated

try to recover via googlemail when you go into your contacts chocse to recover via email or sync via email you'll get your contacts back

You can't use a backup made on previous android versions, what you can do is sync with google then 

phonebook > menu > filter > google/gmail

You can export your contacts to sim card or SD card, just find this option to  the menu of Contacts app!
