After the 9.1.A.0.490 update, I sometimes experience loss of audio after unpluging my headphones. It's really bugging me that I miss calls because of this.
Sounds strange. Have you tried repairing the firmware? If not, you should give it a try.

If it doesn't solve the issue, you should send in the phone to a service center for repair as it might be some glitch with the headphone socket.
I had only noticed this after reparing using the PC Companion. Does it make any difference if I use the one from your website?
I have the same problem (and I know another user with this problem also). I tried repairing (PC Companion) with no result... Is there any solution except sending the phone to a service center?
Which software versions are you running maco and simmedia?
Tried to reproduce the error here with updating a Xperia V to the latest available version and found no problems with the headset socket what so ever. Does the audio shut down completely after disconnecting the headset or how does the error, more in detail, show up?
My phone has 4.1.2 JB, build number: 9.1.A.0.490
It happens after pulling the headphone connector from phone - sometimes, not always - for example 1 case from 6... When this happens, the phone speaker will not make sound (incoming message, calendar notification, music player) until:
- incoming call
or
- reconnecting and disconnecting headphones
or
- restart phone
This is my observation
- my current opinion is that sometimes after disconnecting headphones phone thinks it is still connected to - so maybe hardware problem...
I'm on Android 4.1.2 (build number: 9.1.A.0.490)
I get this often too. After I unplug the earphones the loudspeaker shuts down completely. When I try to play music with loudspeaker or play games, the sound did not come out.
I am experiencing this problem too, after the Jelly Bean update. It has been happening quite frequently with my Sony headphones. I'm not sure the loud speaker switches off after the headphones have been unplugged, or just stays off while it is plugged in. I noticed that when I had the headphones on and music playing, my timer alarm would not go off on the loud speaker like it did before the JB update. The alarm did not ring even through the headphones/speakers. The music simply paused, but there was no other sound. Inserting and removing the headphone jack fixes the problem sometimes, but it doesn't always work, and takes quite a number of tries. I have found that playing some sort of sound while you unplug it seems to be more effective. Please look into this issue, it is definitely not a hardware fault as it did not happen with Ice Cream Sandwich.
guys i have the same problem as you so what to do to solve this problem or should do i degrade to android (4.0)ICS
