Audio lost after unplugging headphones

After the 9.1.A.0.490 update, I sometimes experience loss of audio after unpluging my headphones. It's really bugging me that I miss calls because of this.

Hello,

I experienced the same problem on my new Xperia V. It is really critical if I hear music with the walkman app and then my alarm clock doesn't wake me up in the morning. Got anybody some reaction from Sony?

I also experiencing this bug on my Xperia V, you need to always check. For me I have to reinsert my headset again and after that my phone works fine. Hoping for a bug fix soon.

I had sent a support request to Sony regarding this problem and they simply recommended to send the phone to the repair service with the explanation, that this is a hardware problem. With a heavy heart I separated from my phone two weeks ago.

Maybe the problem is really known and can be fixed simply with a hardware component exchange. Or Sony uses my phone now to study the problem. I will keep you informed ...

Hi,

I also have this same issue using 9.1.A.1.140. The problem is intermittant. Happens 1 out of +-5 times I disconnect headphones or headset using the Walkman app only. Other music apps do not experience this problem so I use Winamp but I would rather use the Walkman app. This means that it is not a hardware fault but a problem with the Walkman app. Come on Sony, you have to sort this out!!!!

I got the same issue with my Xperia V and in fact it was caused by the Walkman App. For testing I installed the default Android Music Player and the problem was solved. With this app it's even possible to regain audio after losing it because of the Walkman App: just start the music player app and unplug the headphone once again.

So I won't use this buggy Walkman anymore though I liked its look and feel. and I'll start testing some other comfortable music players from Google Play Store instead.

I don't understand why there are no updates for the Walkman App; I guess it should be quite simple to fix the issue.

What a stupid idea, that Sony would really help me Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes Crying_Face !

I had sent my phone to the repair service (see my posting from August). After I got it back, the simple and absolutely audicious statement was, that the phone was investigated and everything is fine. No problem could be found! I really gave every information, I could give, problem description, I referred to this forum thread, ...

Even worse after that I had to fight with the Sony support via e-mail over several weeks. They even did not felt responsible for their own repair service and treated me as if it was my problem, that the repair service couldn't solve the problem. They several times recommended to clarify this with the repair service on my own. Imagine that!!!

Now I see that I could have avoided all that trouble by simpy exchanging the music player. Why did this idea never came to my mind before? I'm really frustrated. But thanks for this simple and effective hint!

I also experienced this problem. As I frequently use my headphones, it's really annoying that I have to reboot my phone everytime to get the phone's speaker working.

And since this topic is nearly a year old, wouldn't Sony at least try coming up with some solutions?
