As lots of people on this thread have already acknowledged there were a few annoying feature reductions in the Marshmallow update, but there are also two REAL bugs introduced in the update:
1. Bluetooth suffers from stuttering and unintentional disconnections
2. "keep WiFi on during sleep" just doesn't work
These bugs are well documented in various other threads

Will Sony either acknowledge that these bugs exist and work on a fix or just deny them and tell us to deal with it?

The most annoying part is having to look through these forums rather than get real customer service...

I should acknowledge that the WiFi problem mayne fixed in safe mode. So this could be a problem with a third party app...

Hello Sony Mobile Team,

I bought XPERIA Z5 Dual E6633 few days ago and I thought that I bought the best phone in the world and I found the the design is amazing and the material is stunning but after checking phone's settings and apps I found some flaws and missing features and I am sure that a lot of users are missing these features too and they will be more satisfied if you can apply these features through updates...

1- The keyboard is not comfortable at all comparing it with other devices' keyboard like Samsung, LG and Apple and you can try this yourselves and check out that some other keyboards are much better then yours and the Arabic language is not designed/alligned well as there are some letters on another page and it will be better if we can get them by long press on the related letters on the main screen of the keyboard. Moreover, we should be able to customize its size as after adding the numbers row it becomes so big on the screen.

2- There is no call alerts for call connecting and disconnecting like a vibrate which is a very important and healthy feature and sometimes while calling the screen stuck on black and light on after call disconnecting by few seconds and it is not a sensor problem as it is not happening all the time.

3- The bottom speaker is always lower than the top one and I don't think that there is a valid reason for that and if you have an explanation for that so please correct me.

4- Quick charge feature is not working even after I bought UCH10 Charger... Sometimes I feel it is working but it shouldn't be by feeling as you said 60% in 30 min and it is not going like this "I know that it is from 0 to 60 not from 20 to 80 for example".

5- The toggles on the notification bar should be much effective and a little more by adding some more toggles and enable the feature of long press to get into the related settings directly "For example: Long press on WiFi should direct me to WiFi settings".

6- Album, Video and Music apps need some small modifications like default view/screen should be from my choice not yours as I am one of the people who likes the default screen to be folders not all contents... About the Video app, it is reading the main folder of the videos and not the sub folders which is very weird.

7- Guest user can't be removed/deleted and it uses storage and memory and it is not mandatory so please add the option to remove/delete it.

8- The favourite contacts on the dialer app can't be remove unless I remove all the logs of the contact that I want to delete from the call log so you better add the option to delete the favourite contacts from the call log or remove this feature at all as we already have favourite section on contacts.

9- Pages of the home and apps screen should be more editable like moving pages with its content from right to left or vise verse, adding colors to folders will be a good idea too, adding the feature of hidding apps will be a good thing too and at last adding options for numbers of rows and columns will be amazing.

Thats all till now and I am not requesting you to customize or do these things for me... I am just a user who is not satisfied about your product and I wanted to say why I am not... I know that most of these things or all of them can be handled via updates and I am pretty sure that a lot of users will ask for the same and even if they are satisfied, they will be more satisfied and they will tell their friends about their experience with Sony as well.

Please consider these things on the next updates and you will see the difference yourselves.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Ahmed Atef

How about anybody with the GPS issues uncapable of getting fix or losing fix (Lollipop GPS issue) other than starting up GPS in Airplane mode? Are those solved? I haven't upgraded yet as I was doing a lot of testing on current version prior to jumping to the new one...

OK guys,

I finally bit the bullet and went for the Marshmallow upgrade. After hearing about the update issues some people have been having, I decided that backing up everything, erasing and removing the SD card, completely wiping the phone and installing Marshmallow via my PC on a completely blank and factory phone would be the best, if not the quickest, option.

Phone is... I dunno, E5823 Z5 Compact international version I guess? Bought online from Taiwan before it launched here. Has the fingerprint scanner anyway. Running on Telstra here in Australia.

Build # Installed: 32.1.A.1.185

I use the Nova launcher which seems perfectly happy on Marshmallow as well.

It's been on for about a day so far:

*Bluetooth works BETTER, for me at least, than it did on Lollipop, I had the odd stuttering issue before, haven't been able to reproduce it so far. I use NFC for payments, which also works fine.

*WiFi works properly, even when the phone is asleep.

*I find the apps asking permission for EVERYTHING a bit annoying but I guess it'll settle down in time. Price we pay for paranoia.

* Camera works just as well as before (I think, not sure what the issue was that others were having). Could definately be faster though.

*No bootloops, but I did wipe and remove the card. It's since been reinstalled, loaded back up with music and hasn't caused an issue.

*No Stamina mode, it's been removed. and replaced with Doze. I never really used it anyway, since I'd missed notifications and work emails, so doesn't worry me. Battery life seems the same, perhaps a little better than before.

*UI looks very much the same, which is fine with me. Seems quick and smoother. Which is also fine! Slightly_smiling_Face

*I almost never use it, but the FM radio works just fine.

*Small app launcher is all good.

*VoLTE option is present.

Ummm, I think that's it.  Anybody think of something they'd like me to test out?

Overall I'm happy with the upgrade, but also that I stuck it out and waited a while rather than upgrading immediately. I also think installing clean on a blank phone is the best way to go to avoid problems, it certainly seems to have worked for me.

Anyone knows about an update to 6.0 in Poland? I bought Z5 Premium straight from Sony and still waiting for update, this is a joke.

This topic has been covered here few times. What provider do you use? I am using Play and I've got an option to install Marshmallow few weeks ago. It depends on the provider not the Sony itself.

However, you can install new system manually by using Xperia™ Companion

The new update moves the build number from 32.1.A.1.163 to version number 32.1.A.1.185. It is not live for the Xperia Z5 Premium or Xperia Z4 Tablet
