Android Marshmallow 6 on our Xperia Z5

Good Morning to You ALL !

This is our big day

Our most expected day

Android 6 MM has landed on our Xperia Z5

FW is 32.1.A.1.163, so it contains a lot of bugfixes with introduction of MM 6 Android

Right now, is rolling for different models and on different countries so in few hours, or in one or two day, it will be on your phone, unless u're on a branded-operator phone where u should wait more days to come

So, 7th March was right as we expected based on TWITTER INFO by Sony Xperia GB Winking_Face

More news to come !

Hi Ken,

I am from Holland. And I flashed the Z5 not with the sony tools but with the flash-tool app. It downloads the right firmware from the sony servers. On www.xperiablog.net you can read how to do it. I didn't want to wait any longer for Sony to come out with this firmware. Also check www.xpericheck.com there you can see if firmwares are released.

good day!

  • Battery life seems improved;
  • Cell standby battery drain problem is still there though;
  • Bluetooth seems to work;
  • FM Radio too but clashed a couple of time with bluetooth, then started to work (for now);
  • WiFi has no issue (mine at least).

Smartphone is still a dumbphone Slightly_smiling_Face so you can try to install it.

Addendum: fingerprint scanners seems to be smarter now but... who knows for how long.

Hi, I'm from Colombia. I updated my phone (Xperia Z5) to 6.0 version. But since I updated my phone, it turns off 3 times per day. Also, today I discovered that Stamina Mode is missing. I investigated and dicovered that 6.1 Marshmallow version took Stamina back. What should I do? I can't find updates and I want my normal working phone, and Stamina mode back 😞

You should always update with an clean install. Never keep your settings and files. Do a factory reset.

And update tot 6.0.1 is recommended. My Z5 works perfect with it.

Cheers.

What is Sony's update policy regarding the monthly Security Patches? I've just seen Galaxy S6 Edge (last year's flagship, just like Z5) get August 2016 updates... Shame on Sony....
