I am experiencing a similar issue, Xperia LT30a on Rogers, Android 4.3. I receive an email notification when an email comes in, there is a number 1 on the icon and in the top right corner when I open the app but the new email is not visible anywhere. I opened my webmail and found the subject of the new email, searched it in the app and it found it. I opened the email from the search and now it is in my inbox. Same thing happens when the next message come in. I did not have this issue before the update.
Since I have updated mit Xperia T to Android 4.3 emails do not show up in my mail app. The number of new entries is indicated, but I cannot see the actual mails. I can access them via a preview window, can open individual mails which then appear in the mail app. However, that is a very tedious way for managing emails! There must be a different way - help is very much appreciated!
