4.3 upgrade : no ringtone for incoming calls/sms

Hi.

Since 4.3 upgrade, sometimes there is no ringtone for incoming calls/sms.

Because of that, I've already missed very important calls/sms because I've seen them many hours later.

When the problem occurs, I can't even hear the ringtone when I go in the config menu and try to change the ringtone !

I'm pretty sure it's not hardware problem because the situation comes back to normal when I simply make a call !!!

It's very annoying : receiving calls or sms are basic/essential functionnalities for a phone !!!

Some has the same problem ?

Someone has a solution ?

after you unpluged your phone download proccess stop and ask you to retry

whne your phone fully charged dont turn it on...first run SUS on pc(if SUS is open already just click on retry) then it will ask you to connect phone while holding volume down button...and proccess will resume

Hi.

Following Thommo's advice, I've done a repair (with "Sony Bridge for Mac" because I'm not on Windows) 3 days ago and since this moment, I didn't have any ringtone problem.

I hope (very very very much) this solution is "definitive". If so, it's really a pity that I've lost so much time trying to find a solution since 2 or 3 weeks. I would have prefered that Sony told me to totally reinstall to avoid problems.

I've the impression that Sony only seriously tested installation from scratch and not migration from 4.1.2 to 4.3.

For me, "repair" is in fact a "total reinstallation" of the OS.

am using the SUS....the software download continues from where it stopped but the file size has decreased to 734.5mb from 751mb

i think you dont encounter any problem..but in case that problem accour you can repair software using either SUS or PCC

I've had this happen almost everytime I reboot the phone too, no ringtones, notifications etc!!  However I found if I just leave the phone after rebooting and dont faff about with stuff the ringtones, notifications are there as assigned by me and work fine!  I think it's just lag in the 4.3 os not showing that the ringtones are there, assigned, whatnot until the boot processes are completely finished!

i had the same problem after updating the software, receive call but no ringtone, the update service fix the problem, tqvm

Your data IS NOT SAFE.  Even PCC said to do their back up as part of the process, which I did. What a joke.
