Pop up ads

few days ago my friend install a third party app in my mobile from web since that time pop up ads start showing in my mobile while i am using it like when i am watching youtube or photos not show in lock screen. I checked my app list but any unknown app not showing and also i checked my storage and delete all unnecessary files and folders but it still showing pop ads.

What should i do.

Hi @Sam0507, sorry to hear about this, must be very annoying.

Ads are usually coming from either a downloaded application or from visiting a website.

Have you tried restarting your device in safe mode? That is an easy way to see if this is caused by a downloaded application as they will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

If it is the same behaviour in safe mode, try clearing data for the Chrome application in your device. Do note that this will delete downloaded files from Chrome and locally stored data, such as bookmarks.

To do that, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App info > Chrome > Storage > Manage Space > Clear all data.

What to do if advertisements keep on popping up? This happens randomly, regardless if I'm doing something on my phone or I'm just on stand by but phone screen is unlocked.

Hii..!! i am again faceing pop ads in my mobile and this time i am not installed any apps from outside of play store i am also cleared all data of chorm browser and still its showing. should i try safe mode?

another thing is when i am checking my all apps in mobile i saw an app name ''File downloader'' i want to know that does it app is pre installed app becuse it has option to uninstalled and this is the app which run in background and showed pop ads, should i uninstalled it. please reply.
