Plugged in, not charging

My Xperia X is plugged in, but does not display the charging symbol, or have the notification lights. The phone knows it's plugged in, as it disables stamina mode when plugged in, and enables it when unplugged. This happens even when phone is turned off. I am using the original sony uch 10 charger, but my cable is third party. The cable can be used without flaws on other devices. However, when I use a new, out of box cable, it charges fine. Is there a way to solve this? I can't be buying a new cable every few weeks!

Either cable or phone.

Check, interchange and conclude.

There is a small chance that the USB connector in your device has given up.

Check, interchange and conclude.

Yes however every new cable will work for like one plug in. After that, it won't work properly. It does detect that it is plugged in though.
