Hello All,
I have bought a new sony vaio and I would like to extend the memory to 1GB or (if it is possible) 2GB.
Looking for memory upgrades I have found an interesting link where is written that the maximum memory is 2GB for A115B.
http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=+18930+&distributor=0&submit1=Sear...
but on sony vaio technical specification the maximum memory extention is 1GB...
Can anyone help me please? It is really possible extend up to 2GB
Thanks in advance,
vindam
I would trust the Sony info above anyone else's - after all, they make the machine.
I agree with tellingd on that, but maybe you can call Sony to make sure it isn't/is possible and show them the link you showed us, they should be interested in the fact that Kingston shows customers that it is possible to extend the memory of your notebook to 2 gb.
By the way, might I ask why you need so much memory?

I am trying to install a java application server to do a demo, so I need also sql server and the "sample" demo use at least 1.2 Gb ...
I'll try to call the support... But I don't trust much in this kind of help...
I would stick with 1GB, no one really needs 2GB of RAM anyway unless they're running a 3D rendering farm
