Recovery CD ( What does it do really )

I have a Product Recovery CD for a PCV-RX302

When i use this, which is normally every 3 months or so depending.

I allways choose Restore to Factory Default ( Original Shipped State ) & does this erase any viruses that u have & does it totally delete all info on both partitions & choose differnt partitions settings than default 35 - 5 ratio
Does it Delete like it says it does & meaning zapping any viruses & adware allong the way????

Few m8 ov mine say it dunt do sh*t but i disagree, when i do a restore using recovery disc i allways get my PC back to top performace in gaming & general running of the o/s system.3dgfx.com

i test this theory by running a 3dmark & a PCMark test b4 & after a recovery nad get some interesting results3dgfx.com

oh yeh stranget that im writing this now cos im just about to undertake this very same procedure in next 24hrs maybe asi just got my router back from ebuyer[:">] ( cr*p customer care )
& have been using a Hub to network all our PCs in our pad from my LAN card into a 5 way hub ( MY PC On 24/7 )

Well not to escalate this into an argument LOL but I'm with the other guys on this Ryan. I always used to like a nice clean install, it got rid of the Windows crap-ups but other than that a properly maintainted computer shouldn't have problems with adware or viruses.

I use Spybot, Bazooka Spyware blaster and Trend micros free virus scan alongside norton and I never have any problems with viruses or adware. Additionally I would look out for some of the optimisation/tweaking/maintenance tools out there. A few years ago I used to reinstall Windows regularly because of similar problems but now the programs to help you keep your PC healthy are so good there really is no need anymore.

well i think instead of maintaining properly like im not & keeping on top with Windows crap ups.

id rarther stick in disc & watch problems winder away..........

does'nt bother me at all puttin programs back on & setting up everthin again cos i recon its worth it for end results & peace of mind.

 But that just me, & u all made me review my reebooting actions & think if ive lost the plot, seems maybe i have!!!

yo ryu i didnt mean nout by the no plot thing i was having a laugh lol

and yeah you do need the windows updates there are 21 or more critical updates which stop some hackers and stuff gaining entry to weak parts of windows

everytime i restore my pc the first thing i do is install my anti virus
install my adsl

log on update my anti virus and windows log off and then install all on my extra software and hardware

then i compress all of file c to improve system performance and save disk space

you should proberly do the same
