Xperia Play software update crash

I havent actually updated my Sony Xperia Play before so I thought now would be a good time. I tried to update via Sony Bridge for Mac, but unfortunately there was a problem where, about halfway through the update, the update failed. My phone will not work any more- after pressing the power button it displays "Sony Ericson", then a picture of a phone next to a warning triangle and then turns off again. The Mac will not recognise my phone any loger, and even when I plug it in te device does not register. Help please!

Remove the battery,put it back on.Charge the phone for about 1 hour,retry the update.

Thanks for responding, I did take the battery out yesterday when I encountered the problem, and when I try to charge it, the error message I have previously mentioned plays on repeat loop, any other tips?

Don't you have a PC where you could try sony update service?

Um well I could try to find one but the problem is that I can't actually turn the phone on! I will try that however and see if it works, thanks again 😃

Xperia Play does not have a way of force restarting it like other newer xperias have.It would be better if you could take it to a sony centre.
