Xperia Mini Pro Crashes

Hi all,

I know it's been discussed zillion times here but I'll still post my problem. I have been using an Xperia Mini Pro for the last 2.5 months. It's an excellent phone but for one issue. It randomly crashes and reboots. I can't say when exactly it happens as it has happened in most of the scenarios (battery levl, playing flash, just tapping an app, using the camera and even when making a phone call). I have flashed all firmwares to see no improvement. Curently, it's running 4.0.2.A.0.62. This firmware is supposed to fix the reboot issue, but my phone still reboots randomly, like 1-3 times a day. I even formatted the SD card while updating the latest firmware but the problem is still there. It's annoying but I don't want to change the phone. Is there any way I can get rid of the problem?

Thanks

Vijay

Update: My phone crashes moer often after the 4.0.2.A.0.62 update. I performed a factory reset, formatting the SD card. Even then the phone crashes randomly. I think many people are facing this issue. Planning to go to SE servic centre.

If no third party app's are installed and the phone still reboots like this, contact your local support team to have it examined at a repair center.

Thanks for the answer. I'll contact customer care. After the last update, my phone restarts more often, even when idle.

back up ur data, goto sony service center ask them to reinstall your software and you will be fine.

note: customer end software update is different from the service center software which is more from the core level so it should solve all ur issues.

reinstalling the the software at service center will not take more than 15 minutes if ure not in long line.

Since I had some personal work, I couldn't go to the service center earlier. I went to the service center last week. They reinstalled the software using Emma and told me the problem would be gone. But the phone still restarted again. I again went to the service centre, they reinstalled the software using Update Pro. Now the the phone restarts even more often. As I suspected this, I had already asked them what would I do if the problem wasn't rectified. The guy in the service centre told me if the problem persists, they would change the motherboard. I'll take the mobile tomorrow for replacing the motherboard and post outcome once I get the phone back.

I received my phone yesterday from the servicve centre. They have replaced the motherboard and the IMEI number is also changed. The phone has been working fine so far, no reboots. I tried almost everything that would crash my phone but the phone is still stable. As an added bonus, the "Cicada" issue, which I had overlooked before due to the annoying reboot issue, has also been rectified. Now, sound in videos are much better. Looks like the older board had all these problems.

To the Mods: Please don't mark this thread as solved for a few more days. I'll see how it goes and report in a few days.

Thanks for the support.
