Unable to update my Arc S to ICS either thru PCC or SEUS

Hi!

I have Xperia Arc S, and would like to update to Android 4.0 ICS

First, i have to keep waiting when my SI no. will be included in the evergrowing list on the sony blog... Now when my SI no. (1254-7226) is included for quite some time for the update, I am absolutely unable to upgrade the phone to ICS even after trying several hundred times both through PC Companion and also through Sony Update Service software (previously called SEUS).

Through both these methods, the same error / issue happening. Everything goes fine till PCC/SEUS says me to switch off the phone and wait for 5/30 seconds, put the USB cable in the laptop, and then press and hold the back button while connecting the phone to the USB cable.

As soon as I do the last process of pressing & holding the back button while inserting the usb cable in the phone, nothing happens on the laptop screen for few seconds and then immediately thereafter, the software (PCC/SEUS) seemed to be stuck by its own, and then worse the entire computer get stuck so much so that i have to force restart the laptop everytime by removing the battery from the back side (since no button seems to function after that).

No matter how differently i am trying (installed/uninstalled PCC/SEUS a couple of times, downloaded/deleted PCC/SEUS a couple of times and then installed again, enabling/disabling anti-virus etc.), everytime it is giving same result...

My laptop is of HP brand and runs windows XP without any problem. This is so annoying & frustrating....

And the worst thing is that i do not find any solution or discussion regarding this either here or on entire google....

Amazing softwares and amazing services.....

I humbly request to anybody capable enough to please shed some light on this problem and offer a fix/solution for which i will be oblighed.

Thanks for reading!

Amazing softwares and amazing services

Its not a problem with Pcc OR SEUS , but most likely with your PC

Turn off firewall and antivirus..... if any

boot pc in safe mode with networking on ( press F8 at startup and select safe mode+ networking)

See how it goes;;;;

Any other PC to test with ?

Forgot to add that before freezing the software / pc screen a pop-up come-out in the notification area of the window (lower right corner) which says as : SEMC Flash Device

What does it mean?

I request moderators / Sony staffs to assist me on this matter.

Thanks
